Jhon Duran: Aston Villa striker charged by FA after red card reaction at Newcastle
The Colombian was red-carded when he was adjudged to have deliberately stamped on Magpies defender Fabian Schar during Villa’s 3-0 defeat at St James’ Park.
Villa appealed against the 21-year-old’s three-game ban but that was rejected by the FA.
Duran has now been served with an additional charge of improper conduct for his response to the dismissal, as he kicked a water bottle after leaving the pitch and had to be restrained by a member of Villa’s backroom staff.
Duran has until 3 January to respond. Should he be found guilty of improper conduct, he could be facing further costly punishment.
Villa drew 2-2 with Brighton on Monday night as Duran served the first game of his three-match ban.
Unai Emery’s side face Leicester City in the Premier League on 4 January and West Ham in the FA Cup third round on 10 January in their next two matches.
